<abstract xml:lang="ru">

This article will examine fragments of critical works by the American poet Harold Hart Crane (1899‒1932). The purpose of our work is to demonstrate the richness of Crane's aesthetic experience through the prism of his critical articles, that is, to distort the specifics of his critical legacy as a critic and essayist. The objectives of our work are to analyze the poet's specific aesthetic views. The object of this article is the critical works of Crane as a mirror of his modern era. The subject of this article is Crane's individual aesthetic position as a critic. The relevance of this article is due to the extremely low degree of research of the American poet in question in Russian literary American studies. The course of the research consists in the theoretical development of the issue under consideration from the standpoint of defining the poetics of Hart Crane's critical legacy as such, followed by a practical positive justification of the relevance of the above theses, including from the standpoint of the authors who influenced Crane. The conclusions of the study are as follows: considering the legacy of Hart Crane as a critic and essayist is more than worthy of attention for a number of reasons. The work uses the research of Richard Warrington Lewis, Brom Weber and others, that is, scientific sources not only from different time periods, but also those that are the basis of American crane studies, since they reflect the phenomenon of Harold Hart Crane's critical legacy in a perspective that remains relevant at the current stage of development of the problem under consideration.
